Place bets now:
Crash? Land?
Edit: Parachutes deployed... Edit 2: 60 m/s Edit 3: 2000m altitude...
Edit 4: 500m... No more parachute... Touchdown....
The Phoenix has landed.

Did anyone else spend last night having dreams about giant wasps chasing them?
Oh, just me then :-).

It's great doing astronomy stuff. I get to reference a paper from 1866 in my report. How neat is that?

( I went jogging!!!! ) So, you may now all point and laugh. Or pat me on the head and patronize me. Or tell me that NO, you absolutely couldn't.
I always said I'd go back to karate after my lungs had improved enough that I could run 5km. Maybe I will, but it will have to be after my current huge number of study deadlines.

Wow, I just rediscovered how much more creative I get when I'm working whilst listening to War of the Worlds. It worked wonders when I was doing all my Computation assignments for my MSc.
Of course, I'm not too sure it's inspiring me in the right direction to be writing essays on planetary science.

Are there any other people out there who might be interested in coming walking in Snowdonia some undetermined weekend at the end of March/start of April? (If so, which are you free?)
Numbers would affect accommodation choice. But probably not camping in tents, because it will probably still be a bit cold for that.
Unless yours truly makes a miraculous recovery and recovers all my lost fitness and lung function, it isn't going to be too hardcore. So, we aren't talking 10 hours of steep hiking per day here. Snowdon is nice and has some not-too-hard routes, as a for instance.

So, I was thinking of buying myself a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Specifically, the DC20 seems to be quite good for my needs. But I can't seem to decide between the Allergy one and the Animal/Allergy one, which has extra tools, including a Hard Floor tool.
Now, this is where I'm showing my innocence. See, I've always just used a regular vacuum cleaner, without using any snazzy attatchments. And I have used them on hard floors as well as carpets. Should I not have? I don't see why not!
I don't have pets, and I can't have pets (see point re needing allergy one) so I'm not sure I need a special pet hair remover device. It seems like the sort of thing that might clog with me-hair, although I don't shed that much :-).

My work has a new coffee machine. It has a magic button for chocolate. Just press the button and out comes yummy hot chocolate. It seems to be super duper extra caff hot chocolate.
Whoops.

As suprising as it might sound, hot unsweetened soya milk and carob powder is not disgusting. I haven't decided if I like it not yet (as opposed to not disliking it).

Hmmmmmm.
I added some important content to my report (due in Real Soon Now). It is now over the word limit.
Technique number one: remove adjectives (hey, it's computery anyway) Technique number two: change order of sentences to make them shorter Technique number three: remove words from sentence carefully (such as "the" from previous example) Technique number four: remove paragraphs, and add a few key points in to other paragraphs. . . . Technique number n: remove words at random from report.

Can anyone be tempted by a pub quiz tonight? I'm still not up to karate, but I reckon I could be up to walking 100 yards and sipping on neat cordial and failing to answer questions.

Is there anyone left who hasn't seen Transformers, but would like to?
I was thinking of going to see it at the Vue on Tuesday. On my own if need be :-).

Right, who's up for the 9pm showing of Pirates 3 at the Vue on the 24th? (Organised on a get-your-own ticket basis)
